Men's Pelvic Health

Confidential, evidence-based physiotherapy for men's pelvic floor and continence conditions — delivered by an experienced physiotherapist in Goodna.

You don't have to just put up with it

Many men experience pelvic floor and continence problems but are reluctant to seek help. Whether it is leakage after prostate surgery, urgency, pelvic pain, bowel issues, or erectile dysfunction — these conditions are common, treatable, and nothing to be embarrassed about.

Richard Miles has a postgraduate qualification in Continence and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation (University of Melbourne, 2002) and has been treating men's pelvic health conditions for over two decades. All consultations are conducted with sensitivity and respect in a private setting.

Conditions we treat

Men's pelvic health physiotherapy can help with a wide range of conditions.

  • Urinary incontinence (leakage with coughing, sneezing or exercise)
  • Urinary urgency and frequency
  • Post-prostatectomy rehabilitation
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Pelvic pain and chronic prostatitis
  • Erectile dysfunction (pelvic floor component)
  • Bowel dysfunction and constipation
  • Pelvic girdle pain

What to expect

From your first appointment through to discharge, we are with you every step of the way.

1

Confidential assessment

Your initial consultation is conducted in a private, respectful environment. Richard will take a thorough history and discuss your symptoms before any examination.

2

Individualised treatment plan

No two presentations are the same. Your program will be tailored to your specific condition, goals, and lifestyle.

3

Hands-on physiotherapy

Treatment may include pelvic floor muscle retraining, manual therapy, biofeedback, bladder and bowel retraining, and exercise prescription.

4

Ongoing support

We work with you over time to ensure lasting results, adjusting your program as you progress.

Post-prostatectomy rehabilitation

Urinary leakage and other pelvic floor changes are common following prostate surgery. Starting pelvic floor physiotherapy before and after your operation can significantly reduce recovery time and improve outcomes.

Richard has extensive experience working with men before and after prostatectomy, providing pre-operative education, post-operative rehabilitation, and ongoing support throughout recovery.
